A useful estimate starts with a clear picture of your space.
Start with the outcome
Write down what needs to work when the project is finished: more wired desks, reliable coverage in a stock room, cameras at entrances, or connections in a new suite. Describe the problem in everyday language. You do not need to select hardware before the site is reviewed.
Make a simple location plan
Use an existing floor plan or draw a sketch. Number the rooms and mark each proposed device location. Add the network closet, entrances and areas with restricted access. An approximate sketch is useful; label estimates as estimates rather than guessing precise dimensions.
Photograph the starting point
Take a wide photo of the room, then closer views of the rack, existing wall outlets and accessible ceiling routes. Include front and rear rack views where you can safely reach them. Avoid passwords, patient information, customer records and security footage. Do not open electrical equipment or climb into inaccessible spaces for a photo.
Count the connections
List desks, printers, access points, cameras and doors separately. Record which already have a working connection and which are new. If you do not know the final quantity, give a range and explain what might change.
Explain access and timing
Include your preferred completion date, normal operating hours, who can unlock the closet and any landlord approval requirements. Identify work that could interrupt business. A requested date is a planning detail; it is not a confirmed booking.
Review your brief before sharing
Combine the location, device list, photos, timing and main questions into one project brief. Check that files open and that marked locations match your list. IT2’s current form downloads a local project package; online delivery is not connected. Arrange delivery with the team before assuming the brief has been received.
This guide helps you prepare a project. Final scope, pricing, access requirements and availability require a site-specific review.

Questions
Is the site survey really free?
Yes. We come out, look at the space and give you a written quote. You decide after that.
Do you work on homes or only businesses?
Both. Offices, shops, restaurants, warehouses and homes that need real wiring instead of extenders.
Can you reuse the wiring I already have?
Often, yes. We test what is there first and only replace what fails or does not fit the new equipment.
Do you supply the equipment?
We can supply everything, or install equipment you already bought. The quote shows each item separately.
How can I prepare a clearer estimate request?
Share the city, scope, quantities, building type, existing equipment and preferred schedule. Photos of the rack, ceilings and cable routes help explain the starting point.
Can I add photos, PDFs and floor plans?
Yes. Prepare up to 25 files totaling 100 MB, including several selection batches. The details and original files download together as a ZIP package. Online delivery is being connected; this does not submit your request.
Does the project assistant book or dispatch a technician?
The assistant guides you through project preparation. It does not confirm availability, book work or dispatch a technician. Your saved request needs the team’s review.
